Yesterday they took Vicki off of the oxygen and removed her drainage tube. They also introduced a liquid diet - she had not eaten or drank anything but ice chips since Saturday. They also changed the wound vac and brought her one that she will be taking home with her. She should be able to come home this weekend but will have a home health nurse come in 3 times a week to change the wound vac out and assess the wound. We have a friend who has volunteered to move in and help with the house and the kids until she is fully recovered. (Thank you Angie.)
I am very tired, but very relieved that things are progressing well. The surgeon calls Vicki his miracle for this year. No one knows why she didn't die, but I do. Thanks for all the prayers that have been sent up for her.
Hugs, Joyce
