Winter has arrived with a vengeance in much of the country. Even here in the South of TN we had snow showers on Monday. Boy were the kids excited. It only stuck on the cars and roofs though and didn't last long. Tonight's low is supposed to be 24 with a high of 38 tomorrow. Oh my goodness. I guess this old bear will hibernate. LOL.
OK, I'm going to talk about my cat again. Sorry, I just can't help it. First of all Gizmo is a girl and I stole her name from Sonya's cat at
My Southern Home. I just thought it was a cute name but I guess it would be better suited for a boy cat. Oh well, she is stuck with it now.
I should have called her fearless because she is not afraid of the things most cats are afraid of. For example, she loves riding in the car and a pet carrier is not necessary. She just sits in my lap and looks out the window. Also, she likes water. If I want to take a shower alone I have to lock her out. She jumps right in and I end up having to blow dry her (which she also doesn't mind). But the best thing is she doesn't shed (yet). Smokey was a bad shedder and I was constantly using a sticky roller on everything. This may change, but for now I'm lovin' it. OK, enough about Gizmo.
I had decided not to put out any of my Christmas goodies this year. Gizmo is one reason and laziness is the other. Well, my g/daughter wasn't having it. She came down Sunday and set up my little tree (on a high shelf) and decorated it. She also put out my big porcelain nativity and some other things and hung my wreath on the door. She said she would help me wrap stuff after I get hers wrapped and carry everything to her house so Gizmo wouldn't get into it. We do Christmas Eve down there so that works for me. She's a good kid and that's a brag (but true).
I guess I will get going. I hear the school bus and I'm watching my g/son this afternoon while his mom and sister go to the clinic. I think they both have sinus infections, which are so bad in this part of the country. I don't know anyone who doesn't suffer with sinus problems.
Enjoy the rest of your week.
Hugs, Joyce
Gizmo sounds like Jet - no fear of water and having to lock him out of the bathroom so I can take my shower in peace. He also likes to play fetch! Silly kitties!!
ReplyDeleteTake care and enjoy the rest of your week.

My Emmie won't go into the shower while the water is running, but the moment I turn the water off and open the shower door she runs in like a shot and plays in the water that is still draining.
ReplyDeleteThat was really nice of your Granddaughter to put out the decorations and volunteer to wrap. I hope the doctor can help them with their sinus problems. It's a bad time of year for that!
Sam
That was so sweet of your grand daughter. I love my kitties too. I like Gizmo, too. I love your tag.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I love the tag:) Gizmo has to be the most unusual kitty I've ever heard of. I could live with a cat like that. You have the best g/kids as well :)..........
ReplyDeleteGlad g/daughter helped decorate, I think you would have been sorry closer to the actual day :o)
ReplyDeleteLove the tag...great the g'daughter helped...Gizmo is a cutie for sure!!! Stay warm
ReplyDeleteI think Gizmo is a cute name for a boy or girl. She sounds like my Becky's Skittsy cat. That cat was totally fearless. She lived with us while Becky was at college. Loved the bathtub and would jump in with me if I didn't shut the door. She also terrorized Grizzly. Keep warm. It was 48 today here but going down in the 20's again. HUGS
ReplyDeleteI'd be lost without my two kitties Domino and Scarlett, i dread putting up the tree as they like to climb it...lol.
ReplyDeleteTake care
Yasmin

Love the tag. I have to enjoy snow that way as I doubt we will see any of the real stuff. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteI love hearing about Gizmo--she sounds like quite a character! Tell her not to worry about her name--Sheeba is actually a boy, and Cousin Shane's cat Boris is a girl. Honestly, what's in a name?! ;)
ReplyDeleteHugs, Beth
Gizmo is so cute! I loved reading the stories about her! I never knew of a cat that would jump into the shower; most cats I knew avoided water like the plague! so cute she's your companion when you drive! I like her name too! I can only hope she doesn't shed; vacuuming and lint rolls are our favorite things!
ReplyDeletehope your daughter/grand-daughter feel better soon!

ReplyDeleteUgh I think I have a sinus infection too, but now it's a cough. Kyan has the same thing. So I think we're both going to the doctor next week to get better.
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny about the cat. I know my old cat use to be that way with me. It's like having a kid.
