Local News Mostly...

I'm here. Well, sort of. I've had some health issues that have kind of kept me off the computer and away from my life in general. I hate feeling like I can't put one foot in front of the other, and that is the way the medication I have been taking, makes me feel. Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease. So, while I have kind of a clear head, I thought I'd post a short entry.

Since I've been housebound and kind of out of it, I really don't have much to write about. I did watch the Inauguration off and on Tuesday. I've been through several of them over the years and I cannot remember any of them being so BIG. I hope the people have not put him so high on a pedestal that he cannot live up to the expectations put on him.

Before I retired, I worked at the GM (at that time Saturn) plant in Spring Hill, TN. The big news from there this week is that a Snowy Owl has been sighted on the property. I guess it is extremely rare to sight this bird anywhere, but especially in this part of the country. Anyway, GM was having trouble with bird watchers (from other states as well as TN) sneaking onto the property to get a glimpse of the owl. My friends who are still working there were getting a real kick out of the attention the owl was getting. Anyway, I loved reading something about GM other than what a mess they are in.

If you see a little blond haired boy with glasses in the new Aflac add with the duck...he is a local boy from my town named Caden. I'm sure he will upstage the duck (at least here in this town). He is a real cutie. So much for my local news reports...lol.

I hope everyone is doing well. As always, tags are snaggable and you may have them tagged or tag them yourself. Have a great weekend all.

Hugs, Joyce

  1. I'll have to look for that AFLAC commercials; they are always so cute and silly

let's hope that spotted owl isn't endangered so that the plant will have to be closed to protect its habitat; but I bet it was awesome to see it for those that had a chance to do so

so sorry you are having a tough time with your health lately,Joyce, do take care of yourself

as always, your tags are so cute!!!

    hugs to you

  6. Cool about the snowy owl! I don't think they make it to OUR area (considerably north of you), so that IS a neat sighting for birders in your neck of the woods!

I hope you're back in full health soon. Sorry to hear that the meds are messing with you...you're right, sometimes it doesn't seem like it's worth it!

    Hugs, Beth
